Lifestyle + Wellness Love The Journey

Learning to love CHANGE [LTJ]

When a chapter closes in your life, how does it feel? I imagine it depends on if you were directing the story, or if someone wrote the finish line without your input.

But even if they did… Even if you aren’t in control…

Can you appreciate that chapter? How you felt? Who you met? What you learned? What you lost?

Loss is a funny feeling. For me, it’s a feeling of missing. A sense of off-kilter. An opportunity to adapt.

If you find it hard to accept an ending and see the opportunity, here’s a tip:¬†Start every day with gratitude and appreciation, even for the things that hurt. By bringing some positivity into each negative moment, I’m able to re-frame how I see it. Sadness, anger, and frustration are useful emotions. But they’re not worth all of our energy. I’m grateful for the things that upset me. Sounds a little weird, right? Try it.

  • “I’m grateful that I got ‘let go’ from my job. Now I have the opportunity to focus all of my energy on what I really want out of my life.”
  • “I’m grateful that ____ broke up with me. So many happy moments and lessons learned! Now I have an opportunity to connect with the people in my life that have a positive impact on me today.”
  • “I’m grateful that this injury has cleared my schedule for the next few months. Now, I have time to learn new skills, catch up on old tasks, and take time to really contemplate what fulfilment means!”

Change. It’s not always fun, but it is beautiful. If you allow it to be.

And when it’s our choice? When we’re ready to wrap it up and move it along, change is thrilling.

So what’s happening over here?

I’ve wrapped up my vlog for 2017. Chasing The Dream is over! Though, really… do we ever stop chasing our dreams? Not even a little bit. But sometimes our dreams shift. And that’s where I am today.

I’m in San Francisco, taking a moment to breathe. To watch, learn, and listen. To settle in to what’s next. Because what’s next is even better than what’s happening right now.

But what’s happening right now, is exactly what I need. I love this journey. Every chapter, every change, every shift. My choice or not.

I can’t wait to share what’s coming next. I’ll be sharing video content and sneak peeks for my next project here on my blog and on Facebook. And if you want to see what’s happening on the daily? Follow my Instagram story!¬†

I can’t thank you all enough for being a part of it. I hope that you’ve found some inspiration to chase your dreams. Much love!
